95 4x4 starting issue
I have a 1995 4x4 3.9L. I removed the battery and starter, had both tested for good measure and both were serviceable. I tested the starter relay and it is fine. I have read some of the other posts in this forum and checked for the splice that feeds into the ASD relay and found that there is no visible splice. I swaped the starter and ASD relay and still nothing.
If anyone can show me the location of the park/neutral start switch, I would be eternally grateful. Also any testing procedures for this switch would be wonderful.
Also any test procedures for the ignition switch would be appreciated.
If anyone can think of something that I haven't I am more than willing to listen to wisdom and/or experience.

All right, now even more info...
The motor was replaced 10-15,000 miles ago through Dodge, so I don't think it is a seized flywheel or anything but the starter now tries to engage but stops. It gives a loud click and then nothing. Immediately after the starter fails to turn the motor over, and I hear the loud click, the truck loses all power. Not even the cigarette lighter heats up. After about 5-10 minutes the key buzzer starts up again and I can give it another shot.
Any one have ANY ideas.
Thanks

If you have another vehicle, use the battery out of that. Or, have a friend come over and try his/hers. (Yes, I read the "I removed the battery and starter, had both tested for good measure and both were serviceable")
Since you said, "the truck loses all power," that would definitly be my guess. Either that or a bad starter.
Also, check all of your fuses (in the Power Distribution Center and the fuse block inside the vehicle). Take note of any blown fuses.

Fisrt of all, thank you for your reply. I have already checked the fuses in the PDC and in the block, not a single one is blown. Out of the vehicle, the starter engaged and turned correctly (I was on hand to verify this) and the battery held its charge (also on hand). I am going to try another battery as you suggested, just to rule everything out.
Thanks
Thanks
Thank you all for your input. dodgerules86, I didn't get a chance to change out the battery. I hooked my volt meter from the positive terminal on the battery to the positive clamp. Prior to doing this I removed the ASD relay so the truck wouldn't accidentally start. I then had my wife turn the truck to start and I got a reading of .5 volts where I shouldn't have gotten anything. I cleaned the connection, reinstalled the cable and Voila the truck started!!
I guess after my joy wore off and I came back down to earth, I realized I should have checked this first before taking the starter to have it tested. Oh well I checked the fuses and traced some wiring but never thought of the clamp due to the fact that it looked clean. After all of this work, all it took was a wire brush and a 1/2" socket.
Oh well, live and learn I guess...if nothing else, I found a very helpful new on-line group to become a part of.

if this problem persist try to put the truck in to Neutral and then give it another start, i had that problem the first day of owning my truck, but my dad found the problem.
