easy way to gain some Dakota height?
I purchased my Father's babied Dakota. It is a 2wd, but I would like it to sit up higher.
What is the best/quickest/most cost effective way to handle this? Wheels? Or Lift Kit?
I noticed some 17" wheels for sale in my area from a newer model Dakota, but not sure if that would cause trouble.
I would like it to be more like the height of a 4wd model.

could just throw a cheap 1-2 in body lift under it...but that don't raise the frame and leaves all suspension geometry the same.or tires will lift it some. or a suspension kit...all will work..tires might be the cheapest and easyist...enless you get to big of ones that rubb. also alot of people make suspension lifts for the 2wd daks for like 1000 bucks or less.. tires your lookin at 600 bucks body lift will probably run 100-300 bucks. are you looking for ground clearence or just a high ride hight in the cab?

You bring up some good points. I am really just looking for higher ride height in the cab, not really ground clearance.
I have stock wheels on now, but thought about buying some larger wheels from a newer year model Dakota. I noticed some 17" wheels in a local classified section, but not sure what that would really do. What I have now is totally stock, no larger wheels or tire sizes.
So again, now being more specific.....meaning increasing cab ride height.....what is my easiest choice?

body. and really.. if you have any mechanical skills you could just buy you blocks and bolts and make your own bumper mounts....the front one on mine i just redrilled the holes and used the stock mounts..i wouldn't go over a 2" block...go much more than that you're lookin at alot more work...the shifter shaft will half to be lenghtend...body lift you'll be able to fit biger tires too.
