Hey if it were my truck i would do a flush and fill....its very in-expensive to do so and would save you on buying a tranny...sometimes you have to watch putting new detergents into trannys...they tend to be very picky at times...if it hasn't a a flush and filter...i would definetly do that first. If you decide to do that, look in the bottom of the pan for a lot of metal shavings things like that....you will have very little...the other thing you can check is the color of the fluid...and the smell...if it has a burnt smell then you might need to do a rebuild...or if the fluid is a really dark brown or black...I hope i was able to send some little help....good luck man

thanks man i checked the fluid a few days ago when it first started acting up and it looks smells and tastes just fine so i am thinking that its just a clogged filter and maybe the pump is too but i was just needing some reassurance on what i thought ive been a mechanic for years but never done any tranny work except for changing them out LOL
