Default Gorilla Chipz

I want better performance out of my 3.9L 94 dakota. I am ordering Cold Air Intake (K&N), and I will most likely get dual exhaust, but other than that would you guys recommend getting one of these gorilla chipz on ebay? Will it actually hurt the vehical any?

well.. as far as exhaust goes, I would go with a flowmaster 40. I've got one on my 3.9 dakota and it sounds pretty good.

I've never heard of a gorilla chip. what do they claim to do

The Gorillachipz® Horsepower Enhancer increases performance by modifying the air/fuel ratio, Adjusting the Timing advance, modifying shift timing

The stock Electronic Control Unit in your car is not calibrated to give you the best and most powerful performance. Racers have been using this same mod for years both on the track and off.

Also, can you link me to the flowmaster and give me some pricing?

theres a link to flomaster website. they dont list anything for a 94 dakota, but what I would do is buy a muffler and take it to a shop and they can custom bend the pipes. it will be alot cheaper. I did that on my 99 dakota. I got a magnaflow highflow cat, muffler and two 3 1/2" magnaflow tips and took it to a guy that does it on the side and it was around $500. but that was all stainless.

my 88 dakota. I bought a flowmaster and took it to him to install. costed me $20. for him to install it.

as for the gorilla chip......I dont trust ebay items like that. If you do, then go ahead and get it. but thats just not for me. I'm planning on putting a 318 in my truck next summer, so that will be plenny of power for me

Theres nothing for a 94 dakota 3.9L on that site...I really am not that knowledgeable about automotive stuff yet so could you just point me in the right direction for the stuff i need? The exact stuff? Also, will this give me the most HP bang for my buck?

Okay, I found Dakota stuff on the site, but which of these would give me more horse power? The most increase in horse power? I don't care about the price, if I do this, I want to do it right.

What about this? Would this be worth the purchase?

Worth it is going to be different amounts for each person... To me it is not worth it. If you go down to almost and "mom & pop" muffler shop and bring your own muffler from autostoned or any source, they will usually do the work for really cheap.

I am going to go with two cherry bombs from autostoned because they are $14 each and after buying the two stacks at $85 each it will be another $50-$75 for install or so... But of course I have to have the floor of the bed already cut out and ready for them too. Almost forgot, I am running 2 1/4 true duals without the cats so this will be interesting to see how it sounds!!!
