Default MAJOR HEAT PROBLEMS!

I could use some help and guidance please! I have a 1996 dakota, 2.5, 5 speed, 2wd. Last winter, the heat worked pretty bad. If you left the heat on the lowest level, it would blow hot air. The more you moved the fan up, the less hot the air seemed to be. It should be noted that the tempeture gauge says the truck is running right between C and H, so I dont think it is a thermostat problem. I basically lived with this problem last winter. This winter, I needed a new radiator, so I put a brand new one in. Now my heat doesnt work at all, just blows cold air. Do I need to replace my heator core? Could something be plugged? Are either of these two things difficult?

Also for information, I never used a "stop leak" and there is plenty of radiator fluid in the truck.

Please Help, I am freezing to death in Wisconsin!

try a reverse flush on the heatercore.

it seems like alot of people have been posting this in the past lil while.

just take both hoses off your heatercore. and take a garden hose to the return line and back flush the heater core till you get all the junk out. and that should help out alot.

you dont wanna replace the heater core unless its leaking

Well, it really seems as if we have a lot of people with heater core block-ups this winter. Follow the code below to a heater core flush tutorial. It is for a gen2 dakota, but will work just as well for your generation dak.
