is there a way to easily remove the mount thats glued to the windshield without breaking the glass, i need to move the mirror up a few inches from where it now sits.

that lil metal piece is on there pretty good. you could try some paint thinner or something that will remove glue. then just take a putty knife and try and pry up on it. then take a razer blade and take off all the ramaining glue. and you'll have to buy a specail epoxy just for windows. you can buy it almost anywhere. when mine fell off I just went to a napa dealer and they had it there.

They do make a remover for that type of glue. I had to remove a glob of it before putting a new mirror on once. The stuff softened it right up and it came off with a scraper easily. I don't remember what it was called, but am pretty sure I got it at O'Reilly's. Seems like the sovent was acetone. A glass shop should have it if the parts stores don't.

ill give the solvents a try, i have acetone, xylol, laquer thinner, and maybe some other stuff. maybe some dental floss soaked in it and worked under it might work. only place i found some instructions on the web, and the first person to comment on it said he pulled a chunk of glass off the window.
