Truck is running like crap!!!
I just changed the spark plugs ,wires, and rotor on my truck and now it runs worse than it did before. I double checked the fireing order and it all seems to be correct. Any suggestions?
Do you think it is a possiblity that the cap is not seated properly? This gave me a HUGE issue while changing the cap and rotor on mine. Also make certain that the plug wires are connected solidly on the cap. Also, I don't know about you, but I had three trips back to the parts house to get the correct cap and rotor... they were boxed wrong.

also did you gap your plugs? and if you bought cheaper plugs you could have gotten a dud. when I changed mine in the sumer with cheaper ones I had 2 bad plugs.
but I would just check all of your connections and gap your plugs if you didnt to that.

pull the plug out and connect it to the plug wire. then have the botton of the plug touchin metal. then turn the truck over and see if you get spark out of it. then do that with each plug.
If you have the money, you might want to replace the plug wires as well. Sometimes when you pull plug wires, the connector may break inside. Also, replacing plugs and points can also uncover a bad plug wire. If the truck wasn't running well before the tuneup, you may not have known you have a bad plug wire. I would go back and check everything again. The points gap, plug gap and ensure your distributor cap is seated properly.
change your oil and filter, fuel filter, spark plugs(make sure you gap them)and wires, cap and rotor, your O2 sensor could be bad, that will make it run rough. i bought some of that b-12 chemtool and every 3rd oil change i use that stuff, you pour it in the engine let it run for 5min and then change the oil, works pretty good. and i add a can of "restore" V8 that helps too[/align]
