I bought a 1980 Chevy C-10 for $1700 with a built 350, done a little work to the motor. I found my 90 dakota and went to look at it. The guy liked my chevy and wanted the motor to put in a dirt track car. I ended up trading the motor for my Dakota. I turned around and sold the chevy body for $1500. The Dakota was a 90 sport with factory roll bar with lights, 3.9 5speed 4x4. It had 126,000miles on it when I traded and it was a 1 owner. I removed the roll bar and lights and it now has 192,000miles on it.
paid 800 for my 1993 and had to get the tranny rebuilt for about 600, and about 200 give or take for sensors and other parts. not a bad deal but i could have bought a dakota from my aunt and uncle for 100 but would have had to about rebuild the engine.
$400, the wire going to the side of the trans was rubbing on the heat shield and after the truck would warm up it was buck really bad, fixed it and ran great for about 2 and 1/2 years til last summer but i think ive figured it out and it is still a great truck..
i got mine from my dad 3 years ago for $500. he had from new and it was my first truck and now its waiting for a lot of work, not because it has too but i want a 360. it has 279,000 miles and still runs like a top, just makes alot of noises
