Default Lubrication question: weight on or off...

When doing a lube job on my '93 Dakota, should the weight be off the front suspension? In the '60's, I worked at full service stations, and the owner trainded me to always take the weight off the suspension while greasing the zerks; does that still apply? Or, can I grease it while tires are still resting on the ground or drive on stands?

you can lube them up while it is on the ground. it doesnt make any difference. it will be alot easier if you jack it up abit so you have more room to get at stuff.

I always grease everything up when I'm doin my oil change, so it's already jacked up. I dont trust those drive on stands, I've seen then collapse before.
