Default Need Help Pittman Arm removal

I'm trying to Replace the Pittman arm on the Steering box and I got the 34mm Hex Nut off, put on the pittman arm puller, but there is no clear path to drive the puller forcing screw that forces the Pittman Armoff the spline shaft. The frame and lower A-arm bracket is in the way !

Have you done this before? Need help.

BTW, It's a '94 Dakota 4x4 w/ 5.2L V8 ~160K miles

Thanks for any help on this.

Ron

I did take off front driver side wheel to give me more light and access, but that is not going to give me better clearance to drive the forcing screw on the puller with my impact wrench.

if you're trying to use a puller to remove the pitman arm you're in for a fight just go to your local auto parts house and tell them you need to rent or buy a pickle fork bring it home wedge it in give it a few good whacks and the arm will pop off.pickle forks are the tools u need for this

Pickle forks work(aka Ball Joint seperator) I once had to take a die grinder and cut a notch into it most of they way tru and use a cold chisel to finish the job, ofcourse you would have to replace iit. You can use a electric heat gun to heat and add a penetrating oil, Torch heat will destroy the seal.
