92 fuel problems
I have a 92 Dakota v8 4x4 with 180,000 miles. It ran fine and all of a sudden it acts as if its out of fuel. If I let it set for 1/2 hr or so it will start and run for about 5 min then acts up again. I replaced the clogged fuel filter and thought I had it as I drove it hard for a mile or so and all seemed good. Several hrs later it starts fine and stalls after 10 min of idleing. I took of the fuel line and noted when I turn the key on I got a squirt of fuel, when I started the engine I had plenty of fuel pressure ( had a pin hole in the linefrom chaning filter that shot 2 ft ) Does this sound like fuel pump issue or a relay. When it dos'nt start I can use starting fluid and it will pop right off. I really dont want to change the fuel pump If I dont need to as its costly and 5 degrees here right now..any help out there? Thanks
buy a tank of supreme and add a can of B-12 chem tool to the tank, also a tune up wouldnt hurt either. get an additional can of b-12 and add that to the oil, run for 5 min and drain, that should help out[/align]
