How much is a new clutch for a 1991 Dodge Dakota. Itis a 4-cylender 4 speed automatic (5 with OD?) Approx cost for the parts and labor please. Whenever I'm going forward, stop, and try to put it into reverse it just kind of grinds until the engine idles down, then it goes in easy. but if i turn the truck on or its just sitting idling for a while it will go into reverse easily. Should i maybe put a new clutch into it or wait? or is this not a problem?

 

Reverse is not synchronized, its not a problem at all from what you described.

 

What about the engine revving up whenever i push the clutch in to ****. usually happens when im shifting from 2nd to 3rd and sometime froms 3rd to fourth. also when i push the clutch in to break it will somettimes do it. is there maybe a certain part of the clutch that should be replaced or leave it for now??? thanks!

This may be your problem...........but otherwise I would say your truck is working fine.
