well, i think b/c $600+ to lower the front isnt in the budget right now im going to go to the wreakers and pick up a set of old coils cut them and then build my self a block lowering kit for the truck.

Let me get this strait, cut 1.5" and you got a 2.5" drop? so if i cut 2" i would get a 3" drop?

OK a block kit is cheap and you want to be as safe as possible, you can get one for about $40 at the most. And for the 3" in the front I cant swear that that wont be to low, at 1.5 coils my engineX member is only about 2" from the ground, and that is with 40 series tireson 18s (if I were running say a 15 with 50 series I think the X member would be implanted in the ground)and also I am not sure that our ball joints could take that stress.

On a lighter note if I re-enlist in the military I should get a check for about 8K, and you guys know what that means. Start with new wheels that tuck, then move on to a full air suspension and then drop a V8 in the beast with a new tranny.

Well you are missing a few things and you are going to notice down the road you need to put in few angle wedges in the blocks on rear tires to make your diferental align correctly if not you are going to get premature U joint wear and tear and you cut the springs ouch hey they sell lowering spindles on ebay motors for 2 inchs for that truck year and make and model

ive got 3 inch blocks on the rear and i heated the fronts. once i put the drop shocks on you could sleep while driving, (the only reason it rode a little rough was cause the 318). if you have a 4 or 6 you could get away with stock shocks. people say not to heat them but it depends on how much and how many coils there are. wver heated springs on our 84 chevy full size with no problems, ive also heated a civic,probe,s10,ranger,and mywifes626. and all have excilent ride. most muffler shops can/will do it. just make sure the use a rose bud on there torch and they getall sides of the springs.

sorry didnt see the date

If i remember correctly when i was looking at lowering my dakota (never did because i wanted to use it in the winter) there was drop spindles available on ebay. As for what kind of quality im not sure, but i remember them costing aprox 140ish.
