Ok..... so I've determined that I need a new coolant temp gauge in my '89 Dakota.My problem is going to be hooking it up. the sending unit that comes attached to the gauge is bigger than stock, So I'm wondering if I should just modify the gauge to fit on to the existing sending unit. Like just cut the unit off the gauge and then cut the purple wire that's attached to the original unit and then attach that to the new gauge.

so did you buy an aftermarket temp guage? I would just make an adapter with some fittings to make it screw into the origional hole in the engine. or you could just cut the wires, I dont think that would be a big problem.

 

Yeah I did buy an after market. And I think i'm just going to modify it to fit. that would be the easiest eh?
