Default New fender flares

So here's the story... I saw on my local craigslist that a guy was selling a new set of bushwacker fender flares for $185, so I went and picked them up. Well they guy selling them owns a truck accessory and trim buisness and was selling off his old inventory. The flares were back from 1993 but still in their original packaging. So I got them home and went to test fit them on my truck and the rear ones were wrong! So I called the guy back to see about returning them and he said well let me call bushwacker first to see if they can swap them for the right ones. They did! (After 16 years!) They sent 4 brand new ones (manufactured date this month!) without asking for the originals back. All I had to do was take a picture of the wrong ones. So basically I got 4 brand new $350 fender flares for $185! Heres some pics...

They are wider than stock, which is why I got them. I needed something to cover the wider wheels/tires. I'm not sure by how much but I'll measure them tomorrow.

Thanks for the compliments!

those look great, but be careful about rust. my truck was completely rusted out where the flares were. (got 2 front fenders with the truck and remade the back ones). you should clean up the surface under them really well and use some sort of rust paint or under coat. its not a bad idea to silicone the screw holes either. that way you can enjoy the flares and not worry about rust attacking where you cant see it.
btw, nice rims, you need a set of tires on them like mine our trucks are allmost twins

I repainted the whole truck last summer after stripping it all down to the bare metal (see the before and after thread). There wasn't a single spot of rust on the entire truck and now it has a very solid coat of paint to seal it. I live in North Carolina where we don't have to worry much about road salt. Also, it had factory fender flares, so it had screws in it before, and if it made it 14 years without rust I probably don't have to worry about it. Thats great advise for anyone who lives up north though!

I couldn't believe someone would pay $350 for them. Heck Last Sunday I just bought a 20ft Dual axle Travel Trailer for $300. Off of Craigslist. It's worth $4,000 - $5,000. This summer I will be taking alot of camping trips. With lots of offroadin out there!

I know! I guess its just another case of a popular name brand being overpriced. I can't beat them down too much though since they do stand behind their products enough to replace them after 16 years! (and they fit like a glove) I actually do know a guy who bought them about 10 years ago when they were over $400! I don't have that kind of money to spend on fender flares, the only reason I got them is cause they were half the price and I needed something that would cover my wider wheels/tires.

speaking of your truck, how close are you to getting it road worthy? I really wanna see pics of it on some trails! And yeah, for the wheels, I picked up the set of 4 on craigslist for $125 and then went and got a second set, also on craigslist, for $100 (I'm going to use one for a matching spare (see my post about the custom bumper) and either keep the other 3 just in case or sell them).

you are lucky! the salt on the roads here eats small cars for breakfast! lol. the factory flares seemed to catch and hold the crap and by the time i got the truck.... ugh...
im hoping to get the paint finished up pretty soon(busy with the whole maple syrup season up here), then if it passes inspection(might take a case of beer or so....shhhhh lol) ill be driving it. its just getting rattle canned as im sure the tires will throw rocks and mud and be quite hard on paint when i go offroading. going black with a blue stripe pattern on the back similar to the dodge rumble bee. im actually painting it with rust paint
