i know the '91 is only an LA block with the tbi. i havent had time to get under and check it out to see if it has the sensor. and just curious, where abouts do you live?

I think on the Dakota in 91 they put the speed sensor on the cable between the speedometer and the cruise control. I am in East Kildonan

thats crazy, finally someone in winnipeg! im in st ***. uhm, i found the sensor, only thing is, im not sure of where the mounting nut is, or which one i have to take out. theres one really big nut by where the sensor sticks out, and theres a nut holding some bracket looking thing right on the tranny itself. i would assume its that one, but im not 100%. and fyi, the vehicle speed sensor is on the back end of the tranny next to the driveshaft.

*EDIT*

I went to pull the one from the '91 and the bolt broke and the whole sensor came off. so now i guess the '91 has no speedo, cruise, or proper shifting.... whatever, its junkyard bound anyway... so new plan, on payday (thursday) i go to napa and buy a new one =/

I believe the 94 does not have a speedo cable. You will need a 93 and older.
If your in st Norbert, I hope your on high ground.

i was just looking more closely at the part on summit and yea, no speedo cable. meh, my buddy gets a discount at napa anyway (his dad used to be a cop so he gets the district 6 discount ) and i figure they should have it, if not, then the hunt begins haha.

as for the flood, word is that the river already crested in ND so we should be good, and if it is as bad as '97, the army evacuated this area and the city has to pay for a place for you to stay.

*UPDATE*

175 bux and about 30 min (only took so long cuz the speedo cable was seized to the old sensor...) later, and my truck is shifting properly and responding a lot better. i didnt expect such a small part to be so expensive tho =/

*EDIT*

apparently this sensor was what was causing my idle issue too. if i held the gas pedal at a steady RPM position (1200 or so) in park, the RPMs would vary from 1200 to 1300 on its own, well apparently that was the sensors fault too.... i sure am glad that this stupid little sensor fixed a lot of my small problems with the truck

This is the Mopar part number for the speed sensor 2538608. That is without the gear.
