Duel snorkel air cleaner
Very rarely do I do a modification that isn't a performance or efficiency upgrade but since I have a 5.9 in a 5.2 truck and you can't tell the difference by looking at it, I thought I do something so at first glance you'd say, "Something is different in here." And I think it looks cool.
Before:

After:

I had to reverse the air cleaner to get the angle on the snorkels I wanted to make it symmetrical and get around the brake master cylinder.

I got a second air cleaner housing out of the junkyard, cut the snorkel out, cut a hole for it in the old air cleaner housing, slid in the extra snorkel, and riveted it in. I moved the fuse box back so I could tuck the air cleaner duct in front of the battery. I don't have it mounted yet. It's just wedged in between the battery and fender sucking potential warmer air from the engine compartment. Soon it will be sucking cool air.

Temporarily it just sits behind the head light. I have to build a duct to get it to suck fresh air from outside the engine compartment like the passenger side.

I admire your creativity!
Looks nice! I think someone did it on here before with aluminum duct tape. LOL This is much better.
For offroading I use the stock filter setup and have it reversed towards the battery since the driverside has a grill opening that will suck in water or lots of dust.
For street driving I have the X-Stream filter top and open element.
