Cool 95' Dodge Dakota Sport 2WD Owner - Needing Help with Lifting Options

Hi everyone,

just picked up a dodge dakota sport V6 1995 with roughly 180K miles on it. The motor and fluids have been taken care of and the body has been preserved for the most part.

I'm trying to Lift this thing just a few inches, enough to squeez a large set of tires on it. I'm not having any luck because I hear unless it's a 4x4 there's no such kit or options available... i was hoping that others have overcome this obstacle without having to go buy a completely different truck.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm located in Florida

Get a 2in body lift, it says 4wd but it will work on 2wd all you have to do different is to cut and weld in a 1in spacer into the steering shaft, most muffler shops can do that for you for cheep.

Next is to get 2-1in coil spring spacers per side for the front (you can try to fit 3in total 1-1in and 1-2in). http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MRG-1287/

Next is to get leaf spring add a leafs that will get you 2-3in in the rear.

4-5in lift for under $250 now that is better than any lift kit. All of these are in the FAQ2 which has more lifting ideas.

Cool Truck Lift

Hey man,

thanks for all of the feedback. I checked with a local shop here and the guy quoted me 750.00 for a 3" body lift. I asked him if I purchased 2-1in coil spring spacers per side for the front and also buy a set of leaf spring add a leafs, would he be able to put it all on for me... he said to get the parts and he'll be able to let me know. Hopefully he can do it for me.

After i get the truck raised...i'm going to check out some wheel/tires. Any ideas? I'm looking for a wide mud looking tire, something made for both road and offroad. I figured I'd wait until i get the lift to see what options i'll have. I might have to cut the wheel wel's

Jeff

don't have any advice on the lift, but the fact you want to lift a 2x4 Dakota and not lower it makes me very happy

BF Goodrich M/T's are a very good tire with alot of traction and a mean look. The tires dont have alot of road noise either.
