Default LA 360 swap in 88 dakota

Ok so ive been trying to talk myself out of doing this swap for a while now and its not working. I have an RV LA block 360 sitting in my garage and an 88 v6 4x4 dakota with a lot of work done to it (see sig). What all do i need to do to swap the 360 into the dakota? I have looked around a lot and well as with everything else with this truck their isnt much info on the swap. I could care less if any of the gauge cluster works as the speedo already doesnt work since i swapped a 2002 2500 t case in. So what all do i need as in motor mounts and stuff like that? I can wire it up to get it running so not worried about that either. But stuff like fan and engine mounting and stuff like that. Mostly fitment stuff is what im wondering about. Thanks.

Since your V6 is a LA it is a direct swap. But stock LA's (like any 70-80's motors) have very poor power compared to 90's up. That 360 probably puts out as much HP as the V6 Magnum does. I would suggest best bang for the buck is to go with a 5.9 Magnum motor direct swap but you will need to deal with the electronics. Putting any V8 in the early years body style will require a low profile electric cooling fan or swap the front end from a 91-96 body. There is a write up on it in the FAQ2.

best bang for the buck right now is to swap out the old tired 3.9 non magnum motor for a nice running rebuilt 318. im not looking for high end power out of it im looking for low end torque. And the 318 with a nice RV cam (hoping since it came from an RV camper that it already has a nice mild cam. If not ill do a cam swap and new seals/bearings and call it good to go.
