One last thing - where are you getting the 150-160 from? And what temp is the new thermostat supposed to be?

Have you tried a non-contact thermometer on the thermostat housing?

The internal gauge can be somewhat inaccurate.

Make sure when you put in the t stat the gasket overlaps it(around the outer rim). If not it will allow the coolant to bypass the t stat. There are a few of these posts in the second gen ram section with the exact same problem.

Thanks. Yes I put the thermostat in first then put the gasket on top of it. I ordered a new fan clutch and when I get it I will see if that helps the issue.

I replaced the fan clutch and put a little bit of sealant on the bottom of the thermostat and the temperature is still at about 160. I Noticed that the hose from water pump to the radiator is cold seems weird. A blocked radiator usually causes overheating on underheating

Is that temp on the gauge, or with a point and shoot laser thermometer? I got a point and shoot at home despot for $19.95

sealant on the bottom of the thermostat... huh? you don't put sealant onto the thermostat. It sits in a machined groove in the intake, the gasket and the water outlet (thermostat housing) go on top of it. That sealant could be binding the thermostat not allowing it to close.
