Default Surging problems

I got a 2000 rango with a 4.7 engine. Heres my problem the vehicle surgeswhile driving and sometimes loses power. I will pull out from a stop sign and have no power but the engine will race. I posted in previous post about having 2 engine codes p1776 and p0734. Someone responded saying the tran is about to blow.please don't tell me that tell me it's a sensor or something cheap to fix. I could use any help on this matter.

Check your transmission fluid level for starters.

Quick and easy, go to your local shop, any shop, and have the computer hooked up to a diagnostic machine before you get upset over the tranny. Could be a simple fix.

It could also be your torque converter...

my wife's d had similar problem. when you would slow down it would down shift but go nowhere. engine would race. come to a complete stop and put in park. put it in drive and would take off fine. thought it was a sensor but ended up having tranny rebuilt.

If you show codes and have engine light on, it may be possible your governor actuators may have gone out. Mine went out and immediately the D went to limp mode problaby to prevent further undue stress on the engine. Also, tranny do not want to upshift past 1st or 2nd gear.
