Spinning the rear tires???
Ok, here is one for the hod rodders. Have an 01D with 5.9L, 3.55 rear gears with 265/70R16. Only mod is flowmaster 50 series. From a dead stop or even a slow roll, the D will not light up the rear tires. I know these tires are tall and defeat most of the gear multiplication but 265 is not that wide to prevent tire spin?? My D is in good shape, not abused and well tuned. What gives? This is not an All Wheel drive model. Is this torque converter design? Any mods to get this torque to the tires? Computer chip / re programmer? Shift kit?
Limited slip rear end... isn't gonna spin the tires.
Why spin them anyway? Childish. While you are spinning, my strong-as-as-ox, 5.9L FullTime 4x4 Limited Slip 3.92 Rear End Durango with 172,000+ miles and still just plain-*** fast will be hooked up and down the track.
Let me know how my new tail lights look.

Put some Dawn dishwashing liquid on your rear tires. You can clean them while you burn them to bits!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, I was young once and a good burn out in my 72 Camaro was fun now and then. I think Indy's point is that a 4800 pound SUV is not the best vehicle to have this type of fun in.
Let me know how the Dawn works for ya!!!!!

I miss out being able to smoke the rear tires. It's problaby the feeling you get knowing that your vehicle, let it be a sports car or SUV, that you got a really good powerful engine under the hood. But I agree, those youngster days are past us now and I don't have the luxury to light up my $600+ set of tires and have them wear out on me in 10k miles or less!
But everyone has a child in them and sometimes you just have a itch to wanna do it.

Guys:
Sorry, I guess my Dawn comment was "funnier in my head" than in real life. Sometimes something strikes me funny andI justgo with it.
Soap is really slippery though so I bet it would work well. Life is too short to bea stick in the mud.
Actually, I did witness a guy pour a quart can of tomato juice on his tires, and then drive figure 8's through it because he had hit a skunk.
Now that was funny to watch.

If you don't give a sh*t about your tires, bleach works wonders. However it effectively destroys tires, and I'm pretty sure it wouldnt be too safe inhaling a mixture of bleach and hydrocarbon.
