Default tire pressures

Can anybody give me some advice on tires pressures? I just bought a2000 Dodge Durango SLT, it has 31" tires but I dont know what the best pressuresare for them on both street and sand. Let me know what works best for you.

Sand would be a personal preferance, as well as ability of the tire. Call a local tire shop to find out what is the lowest running PSI your tires can handle. Just a bit above that would be where you wanna run

Street, I run about 38 psi. Lower and my tires are too slick in the rain, higher they are rock hard.

40psi is fine/good on your 31"ers. For the sand, you'll need to get down in the low 20s and get a pump to pump them back up before ggetting back on the street. Over at the Durango Owners Club website, I remember folks have discussed the sand driving, the PSIs and the pump to get and the ones to avoid. Just do a search.

I run 38 psi. In the sand you want a bigger foot hold so you can always go down to 20-30 psi while wheeling. It also depends on your tread so you will have to do some playing around with them.
Just remember to fill your tires back up before you ride on the road.
