98 Durango dome light, radio, rear wiper all out. (suggestions?)
As the subject suggests, the dome light, radio, and rear wiper have all gone out. It seems as though they all went out at the same time. Am I to assume they are all on the same circuit? All fuses are good, EXCEPT the one in cavity 12 (I think that's right). Now I know your're think'n "just replace the fuse!" Well there seems to be a healthy charge of current running to that cavity and even with the engine off it blows fuses the instant they make contact.
Anyone care to take a stab at this one?

I'd say it's the CTM (Central Timing Module) and about a $400 dealer only repair. Take in your remotes with you since they will need to both be reprogrammed if I'm right.

Ok, I finally figured it out. We had some pretty heave snow and ice this winter and it froze up my rear wiper. I removed the rear gate panel and unplugged the wiper. Problem solved. Dome/glove box lights and radio all came back on once I replaced the fuse. I think because the wiper wasn't able to complete a full cycle it still had juice running to it.
Now if I can just get my wiper going again.

do you have a garage??? just put it in the garage overnight and that should melt the ice off of the entire car, or take and turn on the rear defrosters, just my thoughts, either one shold work
I'm guessing that when your wiper froze up you turned it on because that is a great way to burn up a wiper motor. If that's the case just go get a new motor...
