Default TRIP REPORT

TRIP REPORT INDIANAPOLIS, IN-CLEARWATER FLORIDA.

My 2003 D completed the first major road trip here are some by the numbers and notes.

MILEAGE CITY
departing mileage 64,183 Clermont, IN 30 MARFUEL 25.0
arrive65240 Clearwater, FL 31MAR2.5
TOTAL 1057 67 GAL

67/1057 = 15.7MPG Not too shabby for 4 adult pax, bags, a/c on and full electrical load, radio, lights (12 hours approx)etc most of time. No mechanical or driveability issues, 2 drivers/ 17 hrs 40 minutes. not too bad. time includes approx 20 min fuel stops.

Return LEG

Depart Clearwater, FL

depart65384 Clearwater, FL 07APRFUEL
depart65414 Tampa, FL 25.0
arrive66442 Clermont,IN 12.0
TOTAL 1058GAL 70.0

1058/70 = 15.1

TOTAL TRIP MILEAGE 2113

There are two mechanical issues to speak of. 1. Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL), appears to be caused possibly by over filling the fuel tank in an effort to squeak out a few more miles, but lesson learned. 2.Serpentine Belt shedding, on the back side. I checked it out today, looks like it is riding normal, but I will have to monitor and if I find the cause I will post. Fuel mileage slightly lower on return due to more uphill grades and overallclimbing. Also no A/C on return leg, we left early in the morning, and by the time we would need it we were in the cooler air

Brakes, tires, alginment all worked as advertised. XM worked well, especialy in the mountains where stations were intermittent and CD'S were worn out. Weather for both legs, sunny and clear.

Glad to hear you had no major issues magic. Ya gotta love the satelite radio on those long trips. The only thing that kept me sane was my Sirius. When I was getting tired I woujld turn it to the comedy station and laugh my *** off driving down the road. You should've made better time though I was pulling off about 900 miles in 12 hours with all of my stops. But then again as soon as I got the family in the car I only made about 600 miles in the same amount of time. My wife didn't have to drive so she didn't care... [&:]
