Anyone with a suspension lift?
I have a 98 Durango SLT Plus with 5.2 and 4x4. Im looking to lift it. Im interested in the tuff country 5 1/2 inch suspension lift. Any feedback on this lift? Any other recomendations?
Heres a few pics from the site where I found the lift. I absolutely love the look!

That lift is garbage. It is all show and you have to keep tightening it up all the time, if you do a search on it in this section you will find more info on it but I recently saw a thread where a guy (mtndewnut) was talking about it. Look up his name and you can find some pics.
Next thing is the cost of it is around $1400 if I remember correctly. If you are ok with 2 inches which would make your D look a bit more aggressive then I'd do a t/s lift. The shackles are like $50. Much cheaper better alternative considering our D's are already topheavy. Get yourslef some quality skids if it's for more than show and have fun.
Lastly there is the extreme route of a SAS but that would cost you around $5000 but it is just wicked.

Thanks for the info. Im really looking for that hieght. I wanted to avoid the shackles b/c I helped put a set on a friend of mines Durango and the first time he went offroad he bent one. Maybe he used a cheesy set but it seemes like it would happen no matter what brand. Ive also seen the re-indexed torsion bar keys but the only problem with that would be riding on the outsides of your tires all the time. Im kinda torn on whether to do it or just leave it alone b/c I want the taller lift but havent found another company (yet) that offers that kind of lift. all the others are either 2-3 inches or are a "simple" solution like the shackles and torsion bar keys.
Well the only one that I've heard of with that height is the tuff country lift.
Secondly the t/s lift really isn't bad like you think it is. There is another forum that I'm on that has had lots of people do that to their D's and the only time anyone had a shackle get bent was in an accident. and I've seen the pics of what he has gone through and it's quite impressive for a D. Also the torsion bar lift up front will not affect anything as long as you keep it at 2 inches or less. Anything more and you will start riding on the sides of the tires as well as have problems with the cv shafts. If you are really concerned about it you could get an alignment and be good to go. PM me your email and I'll show you some stuff.

Here's my 2wd I made the arms and put the 4x4 D leafs and a 3 " shackle. I designed the arms on solidworks and 3 months int he garage it rolled out with a Ram bolt pattern conversion to keep my 4 wheel disc of teh 2003 and still get the 16 wheels I wanted.
Looks good suspman!! Im leaning more towards the Shackle/t-bar setup the more I read. Do you guys know of a kit that allows me to shackle the rear and replace the front a-arms like you did for maybe a 3 inch averall? I think I might like this better b/c it seems like it would be a correct, more affordable way to do a good lift and I wont have to move up to a bigger tire. Oh yeah, love that tire/ wheel combo!

Suspman your D looks insane. And good job at designing the arms on solidworks. I've been using that program in school and the best I've thot to make was ram-air intakes, sub boxes, and attempted headers.
Well thanks guys it was a lotta time and effort-4 months on blocks-although I did rebuild the entire rear end-only keeping the housing and calipers-new seals, bearings, gears, diff, axle shafts, rotors, and pads. Also, new leafs and shackles and shocks-whewI did do a lot.
