Default 98 Durango For Sale $5500

For sale: 1998 Dodge Druango SLT with 5.2L V8, 3.92 gears, 4WD NV242 Transfer case (2WD, 4Hi (full-time), 4Hi (part-time), Neutral, 4Lo), heavy duty tow package (transmission cooler and power steering cooler), K&N air filter, power windows, power locks, power mirrors, AM/FM/Cassette (4 speakers). Durango is Chili Pepper Red in color with light grey cloth interior. It is capable of towing up to 6,500 lbs. It has about 68,000 miles, and within the last 6,000 miles I have put more than $1500 into the truck: new Sylvania Silverstar headlights ($40), Sylvania Silverstar fog lamps ($30), new battery ($75), new K&N cone filter ($50), new spark plugs ($20), coolant flush and fill ($40), new upper and lower ball joints on driver's side and passenger side ($500), new hub bearing on the passenger side ($300), new tie rods (inner and outer)on drivers side ($150), new speakers in all four doors ($200), and new tires all around (Goodyear Tracker 2, 265/75/15 50,000 mile warranty from Wal*Mart, lifetime balance and rotation at Wal*Mart Auto Center on all 4 tires. [$550]). Truck has been running Mobil 1 Truck and SUV synthetic oil since October 2006 and I'll be changing the oil this weekend (4/21 or 4/22).

I bought this truck with the intention of fixing it up, however I haven't had the time or money to ever get around to it. The truck has some body damage from two minor accidents, the previous owner said she hit a pole backing up and scraped something in a drive-thru. Driver's side back door is scraped and dented, and the rear bumper looks like it was backed into a pole. The frame is not damaged, I had this checked out before I bought it. I had some estimates from local shops to repair the damage and the toals were around $1000. Another problem is that the front bumper is starting to rust. This is a common issue on 98-03 Durangos and 97-02 Dakotas. This is a great truck for hauling a boat, camper, or a trailer full of snowmobiles next winter as it has a heavy duty hitch and is all wired up for a trailer.

This is a great running truck and has a clean title. The truck was owned by non-smokers and never abused off-road. Looking to get $6,000 OBO, or to trade for a 98-00 car with under 100,000 miles and a clean title. I'll throw in an Alpine CDE-9870 head unit with iPod control if truck sells for $6k.

Sold it this afternoon. Sad to see her go, but she was so damn expensive to keep around. Hopefully I'll get my hands on another Durango when I get my bills paid off.

that was quite the speedy sale. Congrats! looks like you had a real solid D, besides the few cosmetic imperfections.

No, it didn't really take too long at all. Craigslist FTW. I wish I could have kept her, but between the gas prices and the body work, it was getting to be a lost cause. It was hard keeping up with the payments as well. I know that I made someone very happy today. The guy who bought it was excited that he had a new toy. I guess the Impala will have to do until I can afford to get my hands on another 1st Gen Durango.
