Default air intake sensor?

Does anyone know what the sensor is on the intake manifold of an 03 Durnago? I am putting an air induction on in place of the factory and there is no spot to mount the sensor. Is the sensor needed? What is it and what does it do? Any help would be appreciated.

Default RE: air intake sensor?

It takes the temp of the incoming air and adjusts the amount of fuel needed accordingly. The colder the air the more fuel you get. All you need to do is drill a hole for it into the new intake you got ar you can get a modified sensor that reads cold all the time (that doesn't need to be mounted to the intake because it always reads cold) therefore adding more fuel and giving you more power.
