Default BUMPS

BEEN HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE FRONT END OF MY DURANGO PULLING TO THE SIDE WHEN I HIT A BUMP IN THE ROAD GOING AT HIGH SPEEDS. JUST WONDERING WHAT IS CAUSING THIS AND WHAT I COULD DO TO POSSIBLY FIX IT.

THANKS

Mines did that before on highway potholes at 65 plus...a little scary if you don't expect them. My cousin told me it was a flaw of the power steering, but, when I changed my shocks it had stopped doing that oversteering thing over the highspeed bumps. I have blistiens shocks. You also might want to get an alignment done.

Lift the truck by the frame so the front wheels spin freely. Then pull out to the side on the lower part of each tire 6 o'clock and the same at 12 o'clock. There should be no play. If the tires moves of axis and has play you need ball joints. Then push and pull for the 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock postion to see if there is play in the steering assembly.Kind of the shade tree approach but it can tell you a lot. Check to make sure you D had the ball joints done under recall!
