iPod playback on a 2002 Durango R/T
I just got to myself a real nice Durango R/T that I used to share with the rest of my family. Whenever I used to drive it, I used a cheap FM transmitter with my iPod that had the worst sound quality imaginable. I'm looking for a relatively cheap kit that will allow me to plug directly into the stereo's interface. I'm not particularly tech-savvy, although I am pretty good with my hands, so I can handle going into the back if need be, as long as the directions are quite clear. Can someone point me in a good direction? There are just so many options, it would be nice to at least narrow it down.
Thanks a lot!

I too am tired of the crappy FM transmitter quality and have been researching options. I found something that looked promising at Circuit City a few days ago. They sell a wiring harness kit thingy that you have to splice in behind your stereo that allows you to plug your iPod into a hard wire connection. It was hard to tell by looking at it but my guess is it has a 3.5mm audio jack that you run out to your glove box or console or wherever that you plug your iPod into....like most new cars have. They are manufacturer specific and they didn't have any Chrysler kits but the others were all $50. Good luck.

Google it. Works with the connection for the CD Changer so it's a direct wired connection with perfect sound quality. '01+ only unless one knows for sure they have a CD Changer port. '00 Ds with CD/Cass Infinity head units did NOT.

IndyDurango: that one is a little too expensive. I'm looking for more in the $50-$75 range.
desertracer: Can you be more specific? "Wiring harness kit thingy" is a little vague, although it sounds like what I am looking for.
Thanks for the quick replies, folks.
