My problems have been far less with than with out.

I was unamware that that would harm the wires and cap, but that doesn't bother me half as much as if it Hurts the PCM!

How does this hurt the PCM.

Oh, and thanks for link, that is what I was looking for with my first post!!

I just ordered this stuff:

MSD 8.5mm Wires #32189
MSD Blaster Coil #8228
Accel Distributor Cap #120329
Accel Distributor Rotor #130328
Accel OEM Adapter to Coil #140021AH

Now I just need to get the plugs. I think I'll try the iridium truck plugs.

HydraShocker: You had said in the other post about gapping a bit more. Did you just stick with the .005 more? and do these come factory gapped?

Thansk guys!!!!

Gap is set at .040 for stock. Although for the extra spark you will get out of the other end you need to gap your plugs a bit more to handle that amperage to .044

I like the Champion Truck Plugs myself but I'm sure that the Iridium plugs will work good. I sure know that they cost a lot more. You have to gap all plugs that are not Platinum’s. If you try to gap Plat's they can crack the insulation.

But all the others can be gaped are far as I know but I know there are some new **** out there and I don't like it. These OEM dealers have put millions of dollars into our motors and I just don't like it when you get these high end plug makers thinking that there plugs will work for your rig. Most all of part retailers get promotions to tell you that there plug works the best. Hell they don't even know. They are just getting paid to sell them. Anyway I would just use the proven method and stay as close to OEM as you can but just make it better.

These part numbers are great OEM part conversions and plug and play for our trucks. Also they are proven to work over many years and also by myself over the last 20 years.
