Mileage has to be flashed into the PCM. We had another guy on here that did the same thing and he had nothing but problems...

I'm having hughes engines reprogram the computer and I already have one for a 5.9 durango.($439) I honestly can't see this being that difficult of a project.(unless I put the turbo back on it)

"I'll buy your motorless Durango for $1000 when your done"

We just completed this swap and are having an issue with the horn squealing when you push the gas.....??? What would cause this? We have great oil pressure, water temp etc. Haven't been able to get it on the road to check it out due to the horn issue. And it squeals not honk....even when you honk the horn it squeals.

LOL man, I know this isnt a funny issue but I could just imagine someone sitting at a light and when they go to take off, SQUUUEEEAAAL! I would have to agree with everyone else on this topic, buy a D with a 5.9, they are out there by the truckloads and cheap. At least it will save you headaches galore.

Not to be rude...but buying another truck isn't an option I would even think about. This has been a GREAT truck, 150K+ milesand this is our first issue. Granted its a big one but not compared to having a car payment again and the other horror stories we have heard. (Not to mention its the wifes truck and sheloves it.) The new engine is boughtand now in the truckand so far its been easy going andMUCH cheaper then having someone else do it for you. We have all the tools we probably would need but the computer to read the codes /Flash the computer.

I've never heard of anyone having that problem. I honestly don't even know how it's possible. I'm just now starting to do the swap. I'm ordering a short block at the end of this month.(don't have time/$$ to build one) If you have any pointers on the swap, it's always appreciated!
