Default Who has rebuilt thier own auto trns?

I'm going to be starting it this Sat probably.
99, 5.9, 46RE
Doing a complete rebuild minus the OD section.
Wondering if anyone else here has done their own rebuild.
As of right now I don’t have the clearances, my bro in-law was going to get them for me but he had an emergency appendectomy yesterday so now I'm kinda screwed for a bit.
Need the clearances in both clutch packs and total end play.
If you have please post up.
Thanks

dan

I just had my tranny rebuilt Wed -Friday 1700 and seems to be OK so far. This was thru a Tranny shop recommended by my buddy who has used this guy for 30 plus years (family too)

A little FYI, change your radiator out with the rebuild otherwise you will have problems down the line. There is a site out there that offers lifetime warranty radiators for I believe a little over $100 and that will save you big down the line.

I always recommend an auxilliary cooler, and replacing the one-way anti drainback valve in the cooler line.

I've done a couple hundred trannies with no consistant"radiator" issues, unless you are refering to the cooler in the radiator.Again I reccommend an external cooler and a new anti-drainback valve.
