Default Need Engine

Im in Alabama and I need to find an engine for my 01 Durango SLT 4.7L. It slung a rod and I DONT want to pay $2000 for a new engine. I just want to get this thing up and running. Can anyone help me?? I am very at Dodge right now. PLEASE HELP!![/align]

I'd say look for a wrecked Dak or D with low mileage if you don't want to shell out the $ on a new one.

If it was a 5.2/5.9 I could help you out. Goto your local junkyard and ask for one. I looked on ebay for you and found this:

I'm surprised this happened to you. How many miles did it have on it? Do you know why it threw a rod?

I had a 2000 Dodge Dakota Club Cab (4 cylinder) that threw a rod on me a few weeks ago. It had 133K on it. I'm thinking it was because it was a 4 cylinder. I went ahead and traded it in for my 2002 Dodge Durango SXT 4.7Lwith 58K.

Carolina Machines in SC are good.We just got a new engine from then about a month ago. Shipped out and had itnext day. Good prices and warranties
