Default Problems with the D

I have a 98 Durango with the 5.2 and theproblem I'm having is this, the interior lights come on and off by there self for different lenghts of time andby the end of the day I have a dead battery. I have tried spraying all the latches with wd-40 and have checked for bare wires in the door jam areas, but the problems still persist.Anyone have any ideas? Thanks

Could be a bad door switch, I had a problem with my door switches when I had a viper alarm system put in and I had the guy rewire it and add a module and since then I have no problems at all. Also I was reading tech info on this, you might want to go to the dealer or mechanic to have them open the driver side kick panel to see if theres a wiring problem.

Thanks for the suggestion, I have a friend that can check the wiring but it will be another week before I get a weekend off, got to love 12 hour shift work. I also have to finish painting my son's Ram 1500,just not enough hours in the day to do everything.

I'm thinking you have a short. The first place to look is the last place you had any wiring service/changes done.

hopefully your CTM module is not going out if there is no short to be found.

Well I have tracedthe problem down to the locks. It seems the lights will only come on when I lock the doors, I still havn't solved the problem but I'm getting closer. Thanks for the help.
