Default BF Goodrich Tire pressure

On my '99 Durango are BF Goodrich 31X10.50R15 All Terrain T/A KO. What air pressure do you guys recommend? Called Goodrich and they said 35psi front and back for normal load and no towing and good all around performance. Seems a little low but what do you guys use? Thanks, Larry

Sounds right to me. I always had my BFG all terrains on my toy truck around 35 psi with no load. If you raise the psi too high, you will prematurely wear out the tire, especially at its center.

Doesn't it say the PSI average on the tire?

And doesn't it say the PSI rating on the door sill?

Don't go by the PSI rating on the door sill unless you are using OEM replacement tires. Go buy the tires on the sidewall to be safe.

BFG's at least on my D has a max of 44 psi but I guess you only fill it to 44 psi if you have a full load on your D. Otherwise, normally 33-35 psi is plenty. I bought some tire air gauge caps from NAPA. replaces your original caps. These air gauge caps have a color coded psi bar. When you buy these, you buy the PSI setting to match your tires. I bought the 34 psi. So when it drops below 32 psi, you will see the nominal green start to slip to yellow and eventually red (really low pressure). Don't need a tire gauge anymore! Cost only about $12 for a set of 4.

Thanks guys. I guess the 50 psi cold on the sidewall is what thru me. I'll keep them at 35 and keep checking condition. It does ride nice. Thanks.
