better gas milage
hwy or city?
I have a 5.2L and thats my best case mpg...
But I have a problem with mine (not sure what it is yet... been fighting it for more than a year...) You should be getting 16 to 17 hwy... If you have high flow cats and exhaust, your mileage may be reduced.... More air flow, more fuel flow... Unfortunately, there's not a whole lot you can do to get better mileage. Make sure your tire pressure is good, air filter is clean, keep your fluids fresh, keep the bands adjusted properly in your tranny.

Take your throttle body spacer and remove it from the vehicle. Place it on your desk as it's a better paper weight than performance mod for the 4.7 (fuel injected). Not sure if this solves your problem but it'll help.
What has helped my fuel mileage is moving my seat further back. That way its a bit of a stretch for me to give more than 1/2 throttle. Even when I think I'm beating on it, its only half throttle, i gotta stretch to put'r to the floor.
I know TB spacers are not worth it. But do they have any negative affect.
When I bought my 02 Dak, the previous owner already hadone installed. I knew it was no real value, but didn't think it hindered anything either so just never removed it.

for him to get 16-17 highway, I would assume he would have to have taller gear ratios. Example would be 3:55 gearing or 3:73 gearing. I know most of us that has a 3:92 gear ratios sees 17 mpg once in a lifetime! haha I was only able to achieve 17 once in mine. Maybe because I had a good back wind coming home. Normally, I get 14-15 highway.

i own a 2002 4.7l and consistantly average 21-22 mpg
I wish i could get something like that. I wouldnt give a **** what gas price was like cause you're prolly getting like 800km to a tank.
intake, exhaust and superchips eh.....deadly combination
my average with a 4.7L 2002 SXT 4X4 is 21.2 mpg combined city and highway all highway is about 22.7 mpg all I have done is put autolite 5224's in and a K&N filter in it, also took the neck off the actual airbox to stop the restriction and also removed the (plastic)on passenger side that sits in front of the condenser lines and side of rad so it kinda has like the ram air effect with the neck off the air box and the air straight through into the bottom of the air box like a kind of poor man ram intake
actually it is not 800k to a tank
my durango has a 95 litre tank or roughly 21 gallons of fuel
last tank was 648 km or 403 miles or 22.04 mpg and man actually put in 96.3 litres light was on during the day bone dry, should not do that actually it was the wife again LOL!!!
