Its about that time for a lift...

Its about that time for a lift...
So everyone knows about the hard time everyone has truing to find a lift for a 2001-2003 durango. Most people are on a budget, I priced a good suspention lift from rancho and it would come to about 2300 just for the kit alone... (it may or may not have gone down since the last time I checked).
So I figured my goal is to fit 35" tires comfortable under the beast without messing too many things up. So I am thinking 6 inches would be great... And thats what ranchos suspention lift is. WELL, Thats a lot of money for 6 inches and still be limited to what you can go over.
But I remember seeing some people that has done an SAS (solid axle swap). Basically totally remodifing the whole front suspention area. Then going to the rear and switching the axle from the top of the leafs to underneath.
I am wanting to find a shop that can do this for me since I dont have much time to do it myself and I dont really want to mess something up down there. My guess is that it would cost me around $3500 for the everything, correct me if I am wrong.
But I have no clue what axle to use, I think I remember someone saying an F350... And for leafs... Not sure either, would I even use leafs or would it be coils? Anyone that has done something like this or knows a little bit about it can you give some input.

RE: Its about that time for a lift...
Well from the swaps that I have read about it is more like $5000 to get it done. I want to say to use dana 35's but I can't remember on that. Basically old ford axles rock but are hard to come by and are expensive because everyone and their brother uses them in their rock crawlers.

Plan on spening at least 5k. A converwsion like that is A LOT of work...and dana 35s are not what you want to use. They are used in the back of many Jeeps and they are weak and would barely stand up to 35" tires. Plus they are used as rear axles and you only need a front.
