First off hello and welcome to my section supermom1970.

This sounds like a CTM and it is located behind the drivers kick panel between the drivers door and the brake. It sounds like water is getting into one of the connections grounding it out. This might be caused by a wiring harness connection. Open the hood and and under the dash and check the harnesses under the hood. One is getting wet.

Hello Christine and welcome to board.

Open the hood and on the drivers side half way up theres a fuse panel. Open this panel and I beleive fuse #6 is a 140 amp alternator fuse. Make sure it is not blown! If it is un-hook the battery Neg terminal and replace the fuse.

Sounds like you lost the leg that powers the rectifier bridge that produces voltage. Basiclly, the alternator is powered up with a hot lead and this alows the transfer of power when it is turning. It turns the alternator on.

This is not a PCM. The dealer is thinking that the voltage regulator is out and that isn't the case here. 98% of all problems alternator related is in the cahrging system other than the PCM. They are scamming you.
