mine was all apart when i did it so i dont know if its possilble in ur case but i got a piece of 2-4 and with it on the jack u jack a bit of pressure on the pump then from the top i had a longbar and a big hammer two hits it was off

 

Finally got it, had to remove the entire steering box and whacked the hell out of it with a sledge to break the rust. Then puller took it right off...no damage to splines. Whew. Royal PITA. Now I have to drill out the Idler arm so that the factory bolts fit through it, it is too narrow.
