Default Fan Clutches

Okay so sitting in stop/go traffic over the weekend (while visiting N/E USA) reminded me that I really need to get the fan clutch replaced. So I poke around on line and I seen a bunch of fan clutches that all have no difference in description, but range in price from like $49 to $120?!? For example Performance Auto lists 8 different choices for my D (2000 / 5.9 / 4wd).

So which do I pick? While I do no presently tow anything, I PLAN to get a camper of some kind to tow behind once I save enough. So I want to get the right fan for that job now.... but I am fairly poor so I really need a good value.
Thanks!

VydorScope,

Choosing the right fan clutch can mean everything. I'll clue you in on my experience. I bought a severe heavy duty clutch. Most expensive model. Spent $100 from NAPA. This sucker roars alot! Which makes sense as this is a super severe duty clutch. A friend of mine got his replaced also but he went for the cheapo clutch. His clutch is nowhere near as load and dis-engages much earlier. I would have to say that the cheapo clutch would be the way to go for the every day driver and with light towing. Save you some gas mileage and gives back more engine power and LESS noise.

If I had known this, I would have bought the cheapo clutch so I won't have to deal with the ROARING noise!

And just what is the dif between them?

Vydorscope,

Check out this link. This may help you in knowing the prices of the clutches. The only thing in price difference for the similar clutch is the direction of rotation.
