Hey guys, so I get an engine light and get the D scanned, error codeP0456, I guess it could be anywhere from a loose/malfunctioning gas cap, to an EVAP canister or hose crack/not connected, to a purge/vent solenoid defective, to a vacuum leak. I checked cap and engine for leak but was wondering if any of you have encountered this error code. I am not familiar with EVAP canister or the solenoid. Any help would be appreciated.

03 with AWD, 4.7 if that helps at all.

 

Go buy yourself an OEM replacement cap first and see how that works.

 

when my dads truck threw the code its was just a cracked hose going to the evap solenoid in the engine bay, his gas cap was still good, but have it cleared, and tighten the gas cap then start checking hoses
