Default 2000 Durango 4x2

I have a 2000 Dodge Durange2 wheel drive, 5.2 liter engine. The blower motor is making an awful noise, although it still functions and blows air. I bought a new blower motor today thinking the this should be a fairly easy replacement b/c I "assume" it's located down below the glove compartment b/c that's where the noise is coming from. In reading one of the repair manuals in the auto-repair store tonight it said for models 2000 through 2003 you need to remove the instrument panel, the dash and the passenger compartment to replace the blower motor. Any have this experience and /or knowledge? I would consider myself an above avg self-mechanic for most repairs but not sure if I want to get into removing the dash and instrument panel.

Thanks,
Ken

Well Ken if you are competent you can do it. It just takes time and patience. I did it myself on my 92 taurus and that was one of the first things I ever did and that was a 9 hour job. Just label any wires you have to disconnect and take your time, hell invite a friend and it will help the time go by a little faster.
