Default SRT-8 6.1 Jeep engine

I have a 2001 dodge durango with all wheel drive, and I was wondering if the 6.1 HEMI would fit in it to give her a lil more umphhh. I think it would be pretty dirty. Is it even possible? hit me up ASAP.

I saw some mopar crate engines that you can buy, even the 6.1. I think it even comes with the harness and PCM to try to make everything plug and play. But man, it's expensive tho. over $6k. But still don't know if it will bolt straight up in a 1st gen durango. I assume there will need to be some retrofitting.

The 6.1 will take some fabricating and alot of $$ to get in the durango. I'm not going to be like alot of people on here and tell you it's impossible, because it's not. They told me to sell my durango instead of doing a 5.2 to 5.9 engine swap...why...probably because they couldn't do it themselves! I don't know what engine you currently have but if you arelooking for a 400hp engine, add ported heads, cam, ecu reflashand intake. And if your still not happy, there's always a supercharger that will put a smile on your face. I personally think the 6.1 vehicles are over rated.(because of price!) I drove a srt8 jeep, they're pretty impresive but for the price...doesn't seem worth it.

I saw that they have a 5.9 magnum crate motor from Mopar setup for almost 400HP. That may be the direction to go to. I think it was around $4k
