Gentlemen, (Ladies if applicable)

I have had a recurring P0440/P0456 code (s),it started on the return leg of a road trip to FL. Since the return leg, I have replaced various emissions hoses, and still get the code. It came on suddenly while in FL, now after about a dozen resets, and lines replaced, the light just as suddenly disappeared. The light was on, after engine start, but all of a sudden, one day I went out and it has not come on since, and the light was not reset or cleared after this event. Last reading and clearing was 09 AUG, light came back on, and is gone now. The owners manual says if theM.I.L light flashes during the ON cycle then it is not ready for emissions testing. That was part of the whole problem all along even after reseting the M.I.L

In short, the M.I.L cleared itself, it doesn't flash during the start cycle so basically everything is back to normal. My question to all of you is

IS that code still trapped in the PCM or M.I.L?
