hi i own a 2000 dodge durango with a 4.7 liter engine with 75,000 miles now it idles rough revs up and down and stalls dosent matter if its a cold ay hot day.... in park or drive if i cant get it in drive before it stalls..please help me ..any help would be apperciated..

 

I had this very same issue with my 2001 Dodge Durango. Ended up being the idle motor had gone bad.

 

rev'ing/surging up and down at idle is usually a bad IAC (idle air control) motor on the back of the TB. about $45-50 at local auto parts.

THANKS i replaced the tpssensor/plug and iac it starts now fine but dies quickly so i think half of the problem solved..it will only stay on if i give it alot of gas i let go and it dies again ..any more help on what i could be ..?

 

Have you ever done a tune up???
