Default Squeaking noise.......

I hate squeaking noises and my D has done nothing but that the past few weeks..... here's the delima....

3 weeks ago I was backing out of my driveway and went from the driveway to the road where there is a little curb, well after I went over the bump it made this almost deadly squeaking noise. It's loud enough you can tell its squeaking a few hundred feet away. I took it to the shop, they said it was a combination of my ball joints..... 800 bucks to replace all both upper and lower and the shocks. I did those myself replaced with Gibson Performance Pro's. anyway, So I started thinking, it must be the control arm bushings, Replaced both upper and lower on the right side, (sounds where its coming from most) and it still is squeaking just as bad.....

Anyone care to add any suggestions?

Did you check the sway bar bushings? Common for them to go, causing squeakin and creakin.

Sway bars are most likely the culprit...

you can only find a complete replacement bushing set from the dealer. Not expensive tho, i think it only ran me around $40 for the whole bushing set. I wanted polyeuthane type to last forever, but they don't make a set tailored for the Durango. You have to do your own measurements and what not to get the right custom bushings for your sway bar.

No more squeakies for me.

I watched my buddy mechanic took my swaybar off and the bushings just slide off. Man, they are dry rotted and hard as a rock.

Just a little FYI Ken if you want the polyeurethane bushings do a good search on the net. I found a set for cheap a while back when I first got the D and was looking for mods to do to the beast.

I spent over a week on the net looking for those bushings while my D was in the shop having its tranny replaced. Everyone came back to me to measure this and that and this and I just said forget it, too much work and so little time. I wanted a oem fit replacement without going thru all the hassles. So I just went back to OEM bushings as most part stores like NAPA and carquest did not have the complete inner and outter bushings for the swaybar.
