Default Won't shift out of 4-hi or lo to all-wheel! HELP!!

My 01 Durango R/T won't shift out of 4-wheel drive modeback to All-wheel drive. I have done everything in the owners manual. I can hear shifting but when I test it by backing out of the driveway and turning one way or the other, I can hear the tires rubbing on the concrete and feel it in the steering wheel. The light comes on solid like it's supposed to but it's definately still in 4-hi. I've never had any problems with the driveline before. Anythoughts more than welcome. Also any pricing for repairs would be helpful.

Luckily for me, I still have the trusted manual shift stick on the floor instead of the electronic ****.

Check this other recently posted thread. It may or may not solve your issue.

You could have a problem with the TCCM transfer case control module. If you still have any warranty on it I would take it in.

EWR:

Try a PCM system reset which should also reset the tccm. Disconnect the negative (or positive) battery terminal, then depress the brake pedal for a good 1-2 minutes.

Then reconnect the terminal and hopefully this will be the fix.

If not, could be the shift motor or the tccm like MT said.
