Transmission fluid
I feel really stupid asking this question so please take it easy on me. Noticed my D occasionally shifts a little funny when cold. Check the fluid (when hot) and it was low. I did not know who, where or what the last transmission fluid change was all about only that it happend (around 120k). Not knowing this I opted to use a Lucas tranny fluid / restorer. I added ~ 1/3 quart and checked the level. It's showing too much, by roughly 1/4" over the high mark on the dipstick. (hot mark)
Does this auto tranny have a bypass for dummys like me that over fill or am I draining some of this out?
Thanks in advance for your KIND words.

I'm a believer in Lucas products but have heard that you don't want it in your Dodge.
Thanks for your help. I'm making a call, maybe a bad one, but I'm just going to run it the way it is. I hope I'm not posting in the near future with a story about a blown tran. I'm racing in the Baja 1000 in a week and this D is actually a pre-runner for my sections. Meaning, In the next 2 weeks it'll see ~5000 miles of serious abuse. I've put 100 miles on it since my post and have noticed that she is shifting really nice and I'm hoping that my problem was just low fluids.
I'm also hoping (this was never answered) that there's an over flow for dummy's like me who put too much in.
Thanks again
