Default Heat / AC Problem

My heater and A/C operate fine as far as cooling or heating the vehicle, but when i change the fan selection from floor, defrost, etc... it just blows out of the main vents, I'm unable to move it just to the floor or just to defrost. It sounds like it's changing when i change it, but only blows out main vents.
Any ideas?

My thought is a vacuum issue. The first gens use vacuum to change the location that the air comes out. On the back of the switch is about 8 vacuum ports and underneath the cowl is also a vacuum line connection. I would check for a vacuum leak first. Does it changewhen you step on the gas?

Not sure what you mean if it changes when i step on the gas. How can i check to see if there is a vaccuum leak? Do i just simply remove the switch and see if the vacuum lines are hooked up or ?

He means that the vacuum pressure should increase some when the rpm's go up.

Read this post and you'll find some more info but it may not be any help either.

Not until we can find someone that has actualy had to fix the problem.
